farhi quote

Mindfulness and being embodied are buzzwords, bandied around as if they are stand-alone, disparate concepts; when in fact, they are two peas in a pod.

The more we come to our mats, the more we become aware of how the body, mind and spirit are intertwined with each other. While it is possible to physically through the motions of a yoga practice, we are left feeling disconnected and like something is missing. If we approach our practice from a logical angle, the body behaves stiffly and unsure of what it's supposed to do.

The traditional meaning of yoga is 'to yoke' or 'to unite'. The more we can work at bringing our whole being to our practice - body, mind and spirit, the more we know who we are. We learn to accept ourselves as we are when we arrive on the mat, be it happy, tired, grumpy, energetic, stiff, or meh. It isn't always easy but more often than not, we leave class feeling like a better version of ourselves. More connected. More balanced. More content.

If you've been away from your mat for awhile and feeling unsure about how start again, all you need to do is walk through the studio door, body - mind and spirit.

About Us

We are a group of magical souls who are very passionate about yoga on all levels - physical, mental, emotional, spiritual and energetic. Our belief is that the physical form is amazing and has the innate ability to heal itself but we sometimes struggle with the how. Yoga supports us in being balanced and healthful souls.

There is no one size fits all - we are all individuals with individual needs. We have classes in a variety of styles and compassionate teachers who are excited to guide you along your yoga journey.

Humans thrive when they are part of a group of like-minded people. The Highlands Yoga Room is a place where all people are welcome to experience yoga in a safe and inviting space. We look forward to seeing you on the mat!
