COVID-19 Protocols

We are so happy to have you join us! In keeping with AHS recommendations, there have been many changes made to the way Highlands Yoga Room will be operating for the foreseeable future. It will alter the way classes look, but not our kindness and compassion for our students and the practice of yoga.

As we navigate returning to the studio for in-person classes, our top priority is to ensure the space is as safe as possible for students and teachers. We all share the responsibility for monitoring our general health - if you are feeling unwell, please do not attend any classes. We promise to do the same.

The studio will be cleaned after every class following W.H.O. cleaning guidelines.

We appreciate your cooperation in following our guidelines in an effort to keep everyone safe and healthy.

Class size has been reduced to 6 students to maintain the 2m physical distancing between people.

You must register online for class before coming to the studio - no drop-ins will be permitted. Creating an account with Acuity will make the registration process quicker. Registration can be made up to 90 minutes before the start time.

Cancellations must be completed online and can be done up to 2 hours prior to the class start time. No refunds will be issued if you register for a class but do not attend.

Before you arrive

Please be sure to bring your own mat and any props you like use as we are unable to offer the studio mats or props for your use. If you would like to purchase any props, please send us an email.

We ask that all students change at home and use the washroom before coming to the studio. As well, please bring only the items you need for class.

Arriving at the Studio

The studio will be open 15 minutes prior to the class start time. Students are asked to wear a mask when entering the studio until the are seated on their mat. Please enter the studio one at a time, unless you are coming with someone from your family unit.

There is hand sanitizer at the entry and it is highly suggested that people use it before entering the studio. It is a liquid formula; take care when dispensing so it doesn’t splash.

All mat spaces are marked out and numbered. Your teacher will guide you to the appropriate spot.

During Class

Teachers will remain on their mat during the class and will not offer any hands-on adjustments. We will do our very best to provide a variety of verbal cues and demonstrate modifications. Please don’t hesitate to ask for clarification or an alternative.

Students are also expected to remain on their mats during class and keep any props tidy and close in their space.

After Class

When the class is complete, students are asked to put on their masks and exit promptly in reverse order of arrival (i.e. person in spot 6 leaves first).

If you are interested in looking at the props or merchandise for sale, please wait until the spaces closest to the merchandise area are clear.
